Last night, I spent most of the evening downstairs in the living room, reading. (I should have spent it doing other things, but the library got in Kristen Britain's The High King's Tomb for me, and I've been pretty eager to read that....)

Meanwhile, around me, the cats were sometimes cuddly and sometimes playful. Apple was mostly playing, interestingly, with a little grey catnip mouse. She usually prefers toys that involve a human, but apparently she gave up on digging me out of my book to play with her.

I'm not sure what went on last night, but this morning, the little grey mouse was in the sink of the upstairs hall bathroom. I wonder whether she played it all the way up there, or just carried it and released it. I've seen her carry toys before, so maybe the latter is more likely.

I went into the shot clinic again today and let them put holes on me. I haven't been in since November. I knew that. I was sick in early December, then the office was slammed, then I was on vacation. I could have gone in last week, but it had already been 30 days; an extra week doesn't make it any worse once you hit that, and last week was insane due to catchup post-holidays.

I tolerated the shots well, which means that when I go in next week (Monday is my plan), I should be able to step up in all of the bottles and begin to resume the regimen. Next week I'll only get the shots once as well, but I might be able to do twice the week after. I'd like to get back to maintenance levels, between bad reactions to shots in early/mid-November and having two bottles expire (resulting in new bottles; you step back when you go to a new bottle) means that I'm well below where I actually should be maintaining.

I also finished reading The High King's Tomb. I liked it, but I did not love it. A pity; I'd hoped to. It's good. I want the next book. It's just not spectacular, and I'll survive the wait for the next book.
