There was no snow when Scott got up. I got up within a half hour or so of him, I think - I got up just now. And there were flakes falling on the skylight in the master bath. So I raced downstairs crowing "snow!"
SNOW!
I got a photo of it (not sure if it came out) before it even completely covered the ground. It's coming down steadily, not too thick (there's a good distance of visibility) but not slow either - a nice medium Oregon rain, except as snow.
It's beautiful.
And Scott's making waffles. This is practically my perfect winter morning: a day when I have nowhere to be but here, nothing to do that so much as requires me to go outside unless I want to. Waffles as a breakfast treat, cats, I can turn the fireplace on if I want it (though heat-wise the house doesn't need it; if I did so, it would be for atmosphere and likely briefly), and outside the windows, the snow is falling, steady and pretty.
SNOW!
(Also makes me glad this is today, and not yesterday. We got all our errands done. And hmmm. I don't have an appropriate icon for this post. I want to use something gleeful/joyous, but somehow "Joy" with a flower - which I adore - seems very wrong for snow. Ah well! I'll use the holiday tree one.)
