Did anyone get the number of that meeting that hit me?
We're discussing possible upgrades for the users to consider. We just have to say "are we presenting this to the users?" and "how much effort will it take to do it". The users are allowed to pick a certain total level of effort items, and that's it, so maybe they take 2 really hard things or 15 easier ones.
"We": Myself (slightly industry knowledgeable, know the product really well, including code guts), the tester/trainer for the system (industry knowledgeable, knows the product really well but only user-side), and my boss (industry knowledgeable; knows a similar-but-different product very well, knows programming, but knows very little about the internals of this system as they differ from his).
The requests: 10 pages of everything from the brilliant, to the "why isn't that already in there", to the mundane, to the stupid. To the confusing.
We got through 6 pages. We have to resume tomorrow to get the other 4. I'm not sure whether to be glad or sorry we weren't able to run straight through them....
I literally have a sort of shocky headache. Like, can't think, spacing out. Granola bar, water, and a few minutes of sanity, please.
And...don't stand in the path of oncoming meetings. They make your brain hurt.
