I went downtown today, to the art museum. Cost of parking: $1. Cost of admission: $10.

I spent about $9 too much, and it wasn't on the parking, which was cheap. The exhibit they had looked fascinating. Alas, everything about it that was fascinating? Was in the ads. Bah. But I had a good time walking around downtown and taking pictures. Oh well. About every other time I go to the museum (which is rarely), I regret it, so it's not a huge surprise.

But hey, I had fun with a camera. The parking was definitely worth it. ;)

I tend not to do art museums unless they're free or I know that I'll really enjoy the exhibit. I've just had bad experiences with them over the years (many having to do with being far too young to be dragged along with my parents to the museum in question). Of course, I do have some good memories... A few years back I saw a wonderful exhibit of ancient Peruvian artifacts at an art museum in Knoxville, and my parents took us to the King Tut exhibit when it was in Chicago all those years ago (admittedly, it was at the natural history museum...).
