1. What was the last phone call you received?

From work, about an after-hours problem. They needed to know what I'd done last weekend to get it back in place this weekend.

2. What are you doing online at the moment?

Reading other peoples' entries, taking a survey, chatting with friends on various mu*s. I was reading the news but I finished that already (as much of it as I cared to read, anyway).

3. Last thing you put on your face?

Lip gloss for my poor dry lips. Far more humorously, the item immediately prior to that? Ink. I have got to stop leaning my cheek on my hand without stopping to remember if I'm holding a pen.

4. Last movie you saw?

The Time Machine.

5. Did you eat too much chocolate over the last few days?

Nope. I've had a bit today, I had some thin mints last Saturday, but other than that I've mostly been having sweet-snacks of fruit, fruit chews, fruit bars, and the silly dinner mints. All chocolate-free.

6. Have you wrecked something of your own in the last 24 hours?

Nope. My nerves got wrecked, due to work, but I was trying to preserve them and didn't directly frazzle 'em myself. Everything else has thus far escaped unscathed.

7. What can you hear now?

Ticking keys. The whir of the computer. A faint higher-pitched sound from the refrigerator. Dimly, off and on, the acceleration of cars - if I'm really trying. The sound of the dinner mint I'm eating crumbling between my teeth.

(Yes, for once I have no music on.)

8. If you were one of the seven dwarfs?

I'd be very, very confused.

9. Something designed for kids but you love it anyway:

Do gel pens count? If not, super-bouncy balls. Or stretchable frogs. Or pinwheels. Or.... (Hey, what's this "anyway" stuff?)

10. Name three pieces of trash around you:

Okay. Let's see. The Twix wrapper can be 'Charlie', the credit card offer can be 'Anne', and the old receipt can be 'Joe'.

Now, why did they need names?

11. If you were given the chance to see Evil, would you?

Given a choice? Only if my seeing it would somehow stop it. Otherwise, no. Frankly, staring at things like that isn't all that healthy, and we see enough bits and fragments of it in a given day as it is.

12. If you could choose your talent, what would it be?

I don't like that singular - "talent", "it". If I had to give up a current talent, nothing. If I could add it to my current talents? Mmm. Still not sure. How about the ability to heal people with magic? ;)

13. I hate the following:

Long, stressful weeks at work.
Being overworked.
People who cut you off in traffic.
How lazy I am about housework. (But I'm trying to work on this one.)

14. Can you stand being alone?

Stand? Heck, I like it. Need a certain amount of time. I can't imagine how one could live, wanting never to be alone - it's such a foreign concept.

15. Do anything artistic today/yesterday?

Hmmm. Not really. I've mused a bit on artistic pursuits, like poetry, but not done them.

16. A flower you would like to grow in a garden:

Lilacs. Also roses, maybe.

17. Your favorite clothing:

Comfortable slacks and a t-shirt.

18. Your favorite place to sit at home:

On a hard, uncomfy wood chair. Which happens to be in front of the computer.

Second choice? On the nice sit-on-the-floor throw pillows and mats, which are useless to computers, but much more comfy.

19. Something you like to do on a Sunday:

Sleep in. Walk in the Japanese Gardens, or the park. Hang out online. Roleplay.

20. If you could afford it right now, you would buy:

I just bought a house. That pretty much is what's on my brain as far as buying.

Eventually, I'd like to get some specific new furniture. I think we can afford it; what we can't afford is to have to deal with moving existing stuff and new stuff at once.

21. Your prized possession:

Just one? Mmm. The laptop, I guess. But it's either many things, or no things. Maybe my poetry notebooks. Hmm. I think what I most prize is anything that stores data, or records of my own work, that I wouldn't want to lose. Which reminds me to make backups again sometime.

22. Do you eat fast?

Yes, most of the time.

23. Do you set your watch/clock a few minutes ahead?

Not deliberately. Is one or another of them, generally? Oh, yes. I can never get all of them working together, somehow.

24. Would you ever/have you ever taken candy from a complete stranger?

Does the lady who sells it to me at the supermarket count? Or the one who hands out free samples at the candy store?

Otherwise, nope.

26. Who would you rather go on a date with: Fabio, Pee Wee Herman, Michael Jackson, Burt Reynolds, Dick Cheney, Bill Clinton, Richard Simmons, Hanson, New Kids On The Block, or your grandma? And why?

No.

And do you really need to ask?

What a list.
