*gleeful* We got the keys, we got in, we have (but haven't tried) the mailbox keys.
The first sets of books are over there, too, along with some throw pillows, a few towels, and some cups. Scott put in Mountain Dew. We know our priorities.
Some mild surprises, some good, two not-so-good, none bad:
1. The two-car garage is only a two-car garage if one of them was a geo. Should've tried to park something in it to find out. The space the furnace and water heater use is enough to make the car not quite clear the door. That's okay, it's barely wide enough for our two small cars side-to-side. So we'll probably just give up. It will make placing the freezer much easier, if it's a one-car garage. Ah, well.
2. We can't figure out how to turn the thermostat up. It has little up and down buttons, but, like, they don't appear to do anything. This one really aggravates me, however, the inspector got it running during our inspection. Just gotta find out how.
3. On the plus side? The rooms measure slightly larger in certain dimensions than I'd thought. It will make fitting the furniture in the computer room much easier.
4. Also on the plus side? Huge closets. Remember my glorying about how many books I put in my trunk? Scott filled his trunk (not as good as mine) with books as well. We took them out and stacked them in the library closet for now till the shelves are there. They occupied perhaps 1/4 the closet space? BIG closet. Standard paperbacks, stacked backs/fronts? Three deep on the shelves, which are 2/3 closet front-to-back.
Very cool storage space.
Very cool house.
Very tired Laura. More packing to do now....
