I just moved my desktop into a new workgroup.

Briefly. Because somehow its association with the domain got hosed up, so I am deleting and restoring it.

The workgroup I chose? "FUBAR". Imagine that.

I suppose, if someone sees it on the net, it may provide some amusement to them.

But isn't the reason to be in a domain is to share info and resources with others in the domain? What's the advantage of being in a workgroup all by yourself? :-) Or are you planning on fubaring the entire company?

See my first paragraph - it was temporary. You can't delete your computer and reinsert it while it's in the domain, but somehow my domain association got hosed and I couldn't log on to it at all. So I had to move it out of the domain, and when I had to move it "somewhere", then "somewhere" became FUBAR.

After that I deleted the computer from the domain (on the domain server, with my spiffy admin privileges) and then swapped it back in and reinserted it.

Blargh. The scary thing is I know how to do that without thinking about it or referencing manuals - though this is the first time my domain association has gotten screwed up that way.
