First, community service notice: If you don't read
news, read this post about password security. I'm sure most or all of you have a good secure password, but the last thing you want is to have your account taken over - check it out. And remember that just because the program doesn't tell you it's not a secure password, doesn't mean it is. If it's spelled out in your bio, obvious from your web page (such as your maiden name if you've posted it in your web page), etc., the code here may not detect it - but that doesn't mean no one will use it.
It was a pretty good day. I've had a headache off and on since 4, though. Ended up taking my contacts out and napping for a bit, then was restless, so up, but wearing my glasses. I'll probably go to bed soon, though.
I didn't get a lot done today, but I did get the laundry done. Hung out online, played at neopets, chatted with people, read and posted here.
Scott and I went out to dinner (we'd been planning on it, and I was hoping food would help banish my headache), and the food was decent (we only went to Shari's, so we weren't expecting gourmet - decent suites). Then we dropped by Fry's; Scott got a couple books, and I got the Enya CD I've been wanting. (A Day Without Rain.) Scott was very patient when "Wild Child" was placed on infinite repeat for a half hour or more....
We're getting close to GenCon, and this year I will be going. Yay! Despite having tickets, and having made it clear I had tickets and the vacation was not negotiable, I was not sure my company wouldn't try to take it away - but they didn't even consider it and have made sure tasks that require me fall around those dates. Which is good. I would have been a VERY sulky Laura if they have tried.
I'm not sure if I'll enjoy it or not; crowds, noise, and heat get to me, and I've never been to one before. But I gather that a lot of the people we knew in college will be there, plus, I'm hopeful that at least some of the folks on my friends' list might be going (though not so hopeful that I'll meet up with them - the thing sounds dauntingly huge). Mostly, it's a chance to try something I haven't before, and see if I like it. In the process, I get a chance to see folks I haven't seen for four or five years, so that should be good even if it turns out I don't enjoy the con itself.
Hopefully I will anyway.

Did we want to try to get together maybe at the end of one of your LARPs? That seems like the easiest (since at least one of us would be in a known location).
I've realized I wouldn't recognize you or know your real name, though! *blushes* Though you could probably spot me, if it wasn't total chaos around you.

I should be fairly easy to recognize if you've got a limited pool of possibles. I'm white, 5'2", brown hair (long), brown eyes. I'll be using a motorized scooter/chair to get around the convention most of the time (I don't use it while I'm playing in LARPs, but it'll be there waiting for me. I can't handle more than one LARP in a day, and it can't be a very energetic one) and will be more or less stationary while I'm GMing.
I might recognize you from your pictures, but... I'm not that good with visual stuff.
Oh, and the name is Anne.
