Oooops. Registration doesn't start till 7, and here I am, ready. The room has no alarm (or clock, for that matter), so we asked for a 6 am wakeup call. Sometimes I take a while to get going - but the phone doesn't have a snooze button and Scott didn't move at first (he's finishing brushing his hair now), so I actually got up right away. Unfortunately, we're not expected upstairs to meet with Isaak's group until 7:00 or so (they have an alarm, and it's set for 6:30 - only Emily was getting up earlier, to shower).

Speaking of, we went back up there last night and hung out until 11:30 or so (real bright, aren't we?) - Isaak and Crow and Justin ([livejournal.com profile] rauros) showed up after we'd been there just a few more minutes. (Doug had recently gotten a job and couldn't make it up with Emily.) It was really, really good to see them.

Justin was quiet as usual, but seems to be well; Crow made a sound of outrage when I dropped the deck of cards on her first armload of Stuff (safer while she's still burdened!), and Isaak regaled us with tales of his friends. They were hysterical. And I'm rather glad, in all honesty, that I don't know the friends in question.

A swirl of memories and new stories, friends and welcomes. And I can't have annoyed Crow too much - I got a hello hug after all her stuff was up. Apparently she still has over half the April Fools' decks.... I'm glad we came, even if it was just to see these people; and this will be okay. This will be fun.

Also, the room's not that bad, on second glance. It's not that great either, mind - there are no mirrors in the main room and no counter in the bathroom, so I had to haul out the flat mirror I carry around for contact emergencies and set it on the dresser to deal with my contacts. The hallway's still scary, mind. I'm going to see if I can get a few decent photos of it. Words alone....

Maybe once I've done that, it will be late enough to go bother everyone else without feeling too silly.
