Things I hope computers won't ever control (no, I don't promise to stick to serious/plausible):

  • Interpersonal relationships. Can you see letting a computer choose who your friends/loves were?
  • The economy. Oh, wait, they halfway already do.
  • Religion.
  • Government. Well, government sure doesn't know enough about them for the reverse to be true, so I guess the computers are winning there, too....
  • I don't want computers directly driving/piloting planes, boats, cars, spaceships, etc., unmonitored by people, where the items are in populated areas or contain people. Sorry, not my favorite spot for a bug to crop up.
  • Aliens. If we meet aliens, I want them to be real aliens with real alien thoughts!
  • Military stuff, for the same reason, though I realize some do.
  • Fruit pies. I don't ever want a computer to deny me a fruit pie! (Of course, I don't want the shoddy bakery at the grocery store to deny me a decent fruit pie either, and they do about every other time I want one - considering that most of their pies are not that good, and one look at them makes me think that maybe I could do without....)

Okay, that's I've just gotten silly....
