Work will tell me tomorrow whether or not I have to fly to the east coast Thursday.

In response to this, I bought new lenses for my glasses.

No, really, there's a logical connection here. See, I only wear the glasses if my eyes are irritated or I'm sick, so can't wear the contacts. But, for a while, there's been a slowly-growing hairline fracture in the left lens. In the past two months, a second one formed parallel but shorter, and one began at the top of the lens, opposite the existing one on the bottom.

Not amused. So I've been "meaning" to replace for a while. Now seemed like a good time! Or better than not, anyway. I'm wearing them right now to make sure they're okay. They are, though it's strange to have to move so much to focus, now.

The lenses are thicker, and not clear at the edge - two marks against them. but paying for thinner, and the ground edge? Not worth it, when I wear them maybe an average of once a month. Having them at all? Worth it, considering I can't read, type, draw, or do almost anything useful (certainly not drive!) without some form of vision correction....

I also have (since I was "trapped" at the mall waiting for them for an hour) trout jerky. I had to get it, didn't I? But it is so good!

Now to check my email and get back to work. Much to my irritation, my new key-card to the building did not let me in tonight. Fortunately, the physical key works quite nicely on the back door, though I did have to hike all along the front and in places it is not as well-lit as I could wish. I have a coworker who gets nervous in such moments about people jumping out of bushes. I get angry, because I don't like the idea I might walk into something I can't see and hurt my foot.

Different views of the world, I guess. Maybe there are weird guys lurking in the bushes. But the odds that there's a stone in my path to turn my ankle on are a whole lot higher. :P
