Scott came back from visiting his family with clothes. His birthday's this month, though not just yet, and I think they just got them in early. His family has lovely taste in clothes for him; he likes them, I like them, they're nice. Very business-ish but also comfy, pleasant to look at, and in the case of some of the shirts, also completely pettable.

Which brings me around to my periodic bitch, which is, why do I almost inevitably have to go to the men's department (or boys, if I'm having a really bad time of it) to find shirts that look business-like, and yet are comfortable to wear? Most of what's in women's that's ostensibly a "business" shirt is too lacy, too sheer for any workplace (unless you're doing phone sex, I suppose, or working from your home office), too stiff, or just plain ugly. And most of them except the sheer ones that I've tried on also manage to itch.

It isn't that hard to get it right, folks. There's rack after rack of shirts over in men's to prove that. I don't care if you sell lacy sheer shit but could you please give me a couple racks of business shirts, that look business-like, that are comfortable and come in reasonable colors? (Hint: bright orange is not reasonable for most people. Neither is blazing lemon yellow.)

On the other hand, I am now encouraged. Mainly, I am encouraged to go seek out the men's department again because I want a shirt from the same line as one of Scott's new ones. (I'd steal this one, but I think he'd object, and a size smaller would be ideal for me - though I can get away with his size in a pinch.)

Hee hee... you're too funny. Maybe you should start your own clothing line?
