Back to work today. Not as bad as it could be, very busy but I did keep my balance. Of course, I also had my boss mess with my mind in re priorities. I sent him a prioritized list. Item #1 was filing my expense report; wisely, he didn't try to move that. Items #2 and #3 were basic housekeeping tasks, and item #4 was a key site item that was dependent on 2 & 3. He wanted to move #4 ahead of #3.

*bangs head* That really was not any part of my worries, honest. :P But, I made it down through part one of item 4 today, so that's good. (Round 1: sending email to someone two time zones east, who has already left for the day. Then completing ever bit of the task that is not dependent on their reply.)

So, muddled through my day. Picked up the pager. I knew I was on after-hours this week. I'd forgotten I was on level 1. This is sort of good (gets it out of the way for about three months), but it does tend to shorten the list of options available for me to pursue. That's survivable, however, but I won't be roleplaying as much (hard to justify involving other people when you might have to go with literally no notice if a call comes in, after all).

On the other hand, I've decided to try to read a chapter of Rapid Development per day this week, and to work on the bookshelves for the libraries. I still have descs and document to do for mushes. (And I have doc for the abuse team, but that's ongoing, so that is a given.)

My benefits card arrived for Blue Cross / Blue Shield. I checked three CD's out from the library (wanted to get something new, didn't need more reading material - hit the 'Folk / World Music' section, 'Celtic' subsection, and grabbed basically at random, avoiding the ones I knew. :) Now ignoring it as background music, which at least means it doesn't bug me.

I have the pager the week three of the one-off workshops I'm interested in occur (and I'm strongly interested in one, which is just a free guided nature hike, but hey). So, I think I shall try to trade that off....

Life is good. My computer room smells like sandalwood. My sandalwood incense provided me with amusement, by including on its warning label the gem "Do not ingest."

I think by Wednesday, I may have the work backlog under control enough to start in on the important but not disastrous or week-deferred stuff, too. Hope I still think that when Wednesday gets here! That's putting in "normal" days (my normal days are 9 hours, which I don't like - but it is how they are).

Didn't walk or exercise today. Bah. Shall try to do so tomorrow but this is much easier when not carrying the level-1 pager....

I'm tired. That, I think, is my cue to say good night and go get some sleep.
