I love our freedoms - which are being eroded in ways that don't always help what they're supposed to help - and our ideals.

But I don't love the man in the White House, and I don't love what he's doing. I don't even like it. I do think Saddam Hussein is a bad man, but I think what's going on is not justified or correct, and I think that the President of our country is most likely also a bad man.

I support our military; I hope that as many as can, come through this okay. They did not make this decision; I think the decision is wrong, and I regret that we are sending them to fight for this man's ego and ambition.

[livejournal.com profile] penguinzero has posted an article I hadn't seen before, that neatly ties up just how bad this situation is, and why it troubles me so. All the people who dismiss comparisons of Bush to Hitler as mere propaganda...it's not. Just don't follow him into the mire, please. We don't have to play the counter-role for his part just because he chose it.

And if you question the association, you might go read this article.

No, I do not believe that the president of our country is right. I merely pray that he won't make the associations grow ever more strong - and that we are able to replace him at the next election.
