The shelving is going well. The hardcover fiction's in place; the poetry and books on writing are up. This leaves mythology, books on computers, and Other Nonfiction to deal with, mostly. They'll probably end up on shelves in the closet, but maybe not. We're doing better for space than I thought we would, which is nice.
Other than that, I've read a bit (imagine that...), and updated Windows. Pain in the backside downloads...! On the other hand, a few things that were vulnerable aren't and - more immediately gratifying - one thing that was crashing, isn't.
Unfortunately, that leaves the yard. I've avoided it for about as long as I dare, so I'm about to go out there and return the area dug (I've decided not to extend it yet) and border it. Might as well get the whole matter started, anyway.
Then, off for shopping. Such fun. Well, this will be, really. I'm going to sell back a bunch of books to Powell's Beaverton (I'm hoping they'll take half or more of them - it would be nice--) and pick up a bunch (we're definitely missing chunks of series, unless they've hidden out successfully, which is also possible - but in some cases I know we never owned them, as well). Then a stop at Home Depot to pick up a few things for the back yard, and order two more shelf kits.
We're not going to use them now. But if I get them now, we have the option of reducing the shelves to all paperback at some point in the future, even if they stop making those units in that color. Which seems unlikely, I admit, but it makes me feel better. I may also try to get a shelving unit for under the window.
Probably not, though. What I really need to do is clean out the closet and get the cheap push-together shelves hauled upstairs and placed in there. It seems to be wide enough for one unit on the left side (right side has built-in shelving that's not, unfortunately, the shape or size I would've wanted).
Anyway, I think I'm mostly doing this to put off the digging, so...time I went and did that.
