Fortunately, my experience of this truism today was not direct and did not occur while I was driving. I was out for a walk this evening, and was passed by (among many others) two cars. In a 35 zone. One was driving along. What speed he was doing, I have no clue, given that I was walking, but it was somewhere in the 25-40 range.

Whatever it was, it wasn't enough for the guy behind him. Did the irritated driver honk his horn? No, not once. Did he flip the other guy off? Not that I saw. No...he revved his engine vigorously and crowded the guy, literally to the point that I was certain there would be an accident as I don't believe they were two feet apart. (They were a half-block ahead of me at this point, so given my distance judgement, they might even have been twice that distance, really.)

Aggressive Guy floored his car one more time and then...cut left down one of the residential streets, his engine sounding as he sped up.

Speed limit on the Wilsonville Road, where I was walking: 35. Speed limit on the residential streets: 25.

I sincerely hope he did not encounter a pedestrian, a pet, or a child. Because there is no way in hell he could have stopped if he were surprised, and the Arbor Whatever (sorry, don't remember the name of the development) opposite us has twisty roads, trees, and lots of cars parked on the street. Notgood.

People like that need to grow up. And someone please take the nut-case's license away.

A cop. I hope the rude dimwit finds a cop who wants to give someone a ticket.
