The world outside my window is vivid, rich, the colors heavy and thick in the stifled daylight, the heavy gold of the meadow brilliant against hte darkening grey of the sky. Jays, vivid blue-black calling jays, dart and hop from branch to branch in the old tree, half-bare some of them are as pieces of it die, looking as if it stands between two seasons as if a symbol for all around me now. The distant trees are faintly hazed, by the light rather than the air, and everything is damp in that way that touches the nose, that deepens a color, but can't quite be seen for water unless you could drift out, brush your hand over the grass or the tree to see what imparted that perfect, deep hue to it....
I've turned the music down, so I can hear the thunder, the jys, the sparrows chiding them.
I got no sunrise to photograph this morning, but on the whole, I don't mind. This is a perfect tradeoff for it. The world is going back to the seasons I like best, and here, now, this day is a perfect promise of it.

Hi!
Yes, I have three jobs, and I'm constantly exhausted, but in a good way.
I do hope the servers aren't like this all the time!
Re: Hi!
No, the servers are not normally this bratty. It's a busy site and a lot of free users, but they've been exceptionally sporadic lately. By the way, you probably want to add
If it's ever totally down and you want to know what's up, they have a status page hosted at http://status.livejournal.org/ that is usually updated to explain what is happening ... once they know something is happening. Obviously, the users usually find out first or simultaneously, but they do their best to keep it updated.
But today it's just bratty. I know I saw someone on my friends-list (I did support here for a while, and while I don't now, I still read some of the communities and have a lot of friends from then) that the database servers were being slow/overloaded. Not sure what was up with that but they're usually pretty good about sorting things out.
One word of advice: when the servers are being a pain, copy every post or comment before you send it. Put it in notepad. That way, you can re-apply it if Frank eats it. :P
