It's typical Oregon fall today, rainy and cold. The rain is a thin haze, visible only if you look for it - it actually looks only slightly hazy/misty outside my window if I don't stare. Earlier, it was coming down harder, though. Theclouds are a soft grey, like cotton candy bleached of all its life. The pasture's caught between summer's last gold and spring's green, lost in the ambiguous weather, and some of my bulbs are blooming again. I laugh at them, but in this clime, they'll do okay in spite of themselves, I imagine.

I love it. This is my home, this is my state, this is what it should look like. Alive. Wet. Growing. Fall is a soft, beautiful, clinging damp.

Scott and I agree that it is cold enough we should really turn the heat on. However, neither one of us seems to want to go downstairs and turn it on.... Sigh. So, we're chilly till one of us acquires sense.

This may be a while. :)

*grins* Now, if you're like my landlords, you switch on the heat the day that it gets a little colder than normal. And overheat the people who live in your basement. @_@;;

So, did you ever turn on the heat?
