Good holiday. Dinner with my parents was excellent - both the food and the company. We played Apples to Apples, three rounds. I saw both the housecats. Basta was glad to be petted and drip all over me. Babe was amazingly skittish and wary of me, but willing to be petted at intervals, if I hadn't startled her too much.

Basta must be 16 or 17 now and she is very laid-back. Babe is all of two and seems to be Dad's cat, trusting him even when she was being super-skittish today. She was also - when not fleeing us - the one willing to play with the cat toys I brought out. As expected - Basta's a wonderful cat but a bit old to chase multicolored felt mice all over the house.

We stayed as late as we could, then came home. Nice clear drive; despite the statements of the snow level dropping, we had no issues. Then again, we didn't go anywhere up further than my parents' place (where it briefly hailed, but cleared up after only a few minutes). Scott had time to drink a bit of water and take a rest stop, then headed out to his aunt and uncle's.

In some ways I'm sorry I didn't go; they're neat people. But I'm not sorry in most ways. Two meals would have been too much. I was yawning a lot at my parents' house and, while I didn't feel at all tired at the time and was confused by it, I'm really dragging now. (Which is a pain, as I should take my last antibiotic pill late tonight, and I may be a complete zombie by then.)

My neighbors appear to all be having guests over for Christmas, the street is really parked up. Many have gone all-out for lights, and it's been gorgeous. Every year I think that we should do something to match. And every year I discard the notion. Having lights, putting them up, etc., is a pain and uses a lot of electricity, and I don't really value them that much. I just enjoy looking at what's there. For that, my neighbors' lights do just fine. :)

Two huge meals is definitely too much... *yawn*... luckily it's almost bed time anyway.

Merry Christmas!

Yes, it was a very pleasant Christmas. Thanks.

And my blood sugar was only 106 this morning. Well within normal range, so I wasn't all that bad yesterday.
