Of course, this "weekend" was five days long, in the end. I love holidays and a well-placed vacation day. I got called once by work, on Friday. It was easy - something we have faced before but that the people who were in the office had not faced yet.

I've already written about Christmas, dinner with my parents was wonderful.

In the end, I spent most of the weekend reading, roleplaying, doing some mush-code, and getting key household chores done. Very pleased with myself for remembering the last and all.

I've only got a couple more functions to sort out for the major mush-code changeover I'm doing, and I think they're going to turn out to be ones that don't need changes. Of course, until it's all ready, I won't know how many pieces go flying out when I try to put it in in the test area. Hopefully that will catch any booby traps, but the time I have to test it in is short so a few may escape anyway. I hope not.

Roleplay has been incredible, just a very cool cascading series of scenes. Of course, that's kept me from finishing the troll character like I meant to, but if I'm honest, lots of things have kept me from that including inertia. I think I know how to proceed with her so hopefully I'll actually get off my posterior in that regard soon.

Today's other big project was the photos from our trip to California. I do not have any of them up. I have them all prepared, but uploading and labelling takes a while and there were quite a few good ones. Amusingly, while seeing the fireworks show from inside Disneyland was amazing, all my best fireworks shots are from when we watched it from outside. This isn't really that surprising, in the end. Inside, there was a huge crowd, we were pressed close, and there was no way to brace on anything and still have the camera see any of the action - too many people in the way. So most of the shots blurred out and the rest were shot rather haphazardly as I was staring up at the sky and holding the camera at the same time. The outside shots of the night before were done with the camera braced on the rim of a planter and, while they suffer from having streetlamps glaring in them, they generally worked better. It was a worse view, of course, by far - but much better situation for photographs of what could be seen.

Hopefully tomorrow, but maybe not till next weekend. Which, admittedly, starts Thursday for me...love mixing holidays and vacation days, though it is unfortunately back to normal after that one! :)
