Mostly a very good day. I went to Silver Falls State Park this morning - left the house around seven and was back by noon. The drive out to the park went more smoothly - I went in from the Salem end of 214, which was much better marked. Two-lane highways, fine. Two-lane highways that turn corners need GOOD SIGNAGE, especially when the road goes straight even tho' the highway turns. Ahem. Also some lovely dropoffs that shattered my nerves. They clearcut a small section along it. I do not approve of nor like clearcutting in general but for gosh sakes don't do it on big ol' slopes like that so I have to SEE how far the drop is!

Had a nice time at the park, although I did not remotely see all of it. There are miles and miles of trails, and I stayed near the parking areas, so I only saw three full falls and the top-side of a fourth. Thing is, to see most of the falls, you have to descend into the canyon. I'm not in good enough shape to hike down and back out that much, or at least not confident of it. I'd expected that and hoped some would be accessible, and they were.

One of my three memory cards corrupted while I was using it, dumping all the photos on it. The only good thing I can say about that one is that it did not include any of my photos of the falls or park - it was stuff I'd been taking shots of on the drive back. So, while mildly annoying, it wasn't really very upsetting compared to if it had been the falls photos. I've reformatted the card and sulked at it a bit, and all seems well.

Went in with one battery at half, the other full. Now both need recharging.

Now to get all these photos up. I just keep getting further and further behind...!
