Thursday Threesome

Onesome: Wild-- Whoa! ...wild times lately! Florida and neighboring states have been blown away; the Northeast has been deluged; California is shakin' again; and the Pacific Northwest is getting ready to erupt. Okay, what's too wild for you? What will you live with and what do you want to stay far, far away from?

The volcano, I can cope with, though I wouldn't want to live right next to it (like, 5-10 miles). Occasional earthquakes like we get, I can cope with. Flooding? Windstorms? Can cope with. California frequency of earthquakes is more than I really want, though I might cope. Tornados and Hurricanes scare me silly; keep them far away.

Twosome: Blue-- Blue Delft? Off the wall: What color are your day to day dishes. ...and does anyone in this crowd have some really nice stuff you like to break out for the upcoming holiday dinners?

We have a mixed set actually. I don't know the name for the one, but it's a Corel pattern with green flowers along the edges. The other part of the set is plain white, no patterns. We don't have really fancy stuff; we don't do really fancy dinners.

Threesome: Yonder-- Oh, man, science fiction is reality: the private sector has reached space and is getting set to visit on a regular basis. Would you like to go out yonder? I mean, if the group with the five-seater offered you a suborbital flight, would you be up for that?

No. Some day far in the future, when it's routine, maybe. But probably not. Thanks, airplanes make me nervous...and, I don't see what the big payoff would be for going into space. I know, for some people it would be going into space. All I can think of is maybe the view, but I really don't think seeing it in person instead of photographs would be worth either the cost or the risk. There's so much to see and do down here, and while nothing's risk-free, there are things that are riskier and not so bad. (Which is why, some day when it's routine, maybe. I'd still need to figure out what I'd get out of it besides a hit in the pocketbook, though. :)

I lived in CA for about 18 months and never felt a single quake. And there was a 6+ one in the SF Bay area while I was there, but it was at 2am and it was in the north bay area.
