Went to the zoo yesterday with Scott. That was fun. When we got to the lorikeets, they sell nectar for you to feed them, to draw them to you. Last time I didn't get any; this time we got one cup. Scott had it first and he got a few. Then he passed it to me and they ignored me. Sigh. So I handed it back. Scott looks really cute with a lorikeet on his head. In theory, I have pictures. In practice, the camera was set on sunset mode by mistake and I have not looked at the pictures yet, so we'll see if any of them are actually worth the time.
This past week, house painting update: Monday the HOA had the letter ready for us, but I wasn't feeling well and Scott was going to be out, so we had them drop it off Tuesday. Tuesday as soon as we had the letter, we called the painter and told him we could sign the contract now. He stopped by Wednesday night, and we did that and gave him the two cans with samples of the greens provided by the HOA (he is going to supply the tan we are interested in - I would not have had them supply samples until we knew he wouldn't, but they had their own ideas, so...). He is working on another house in the neighborhood and indicated that if the weather held, he would put the samples up either Friday evening or Saturday morning. The forecast then turned to rain and the weather followed through, so we have no samples. We shall see if we get another 3-4 days of certain clear weather before spring. He's not to put the samples up unless he thinks he can do the job on the subsequent days.
I did my first stint as a judge on a mush, ever, on Eph yesterday. It seemed to go fairly well, and hopefully now I'll be a bit less nervy about that sort of thing. We'll see. ;) There's a lot to get done there today, but that's okay and even a good thing. I've got laundry to do, and a bit of cleaning; I can alternate that with the Ephemera tasks and hopefully get quite a bit done while having fun.
Went grocery shopping this morning, so we're fed for a while. The imitation crab meat was on sale for half the usual price (the kind that's frozen 'til you thaw it, so not worrying about age here), so I'm very, very happy. (Yes, I know. Imitation crab meat is not a very good imitation of crab. But it's a really tasty fish, if you don't think of it as crab.) I also got a bag of candy for Halloween - just one; we don't usually get many kids (probably as we're tucked on a dead-end in a little nook of what I think is under 50 homes on the wrong side of a busy street from the rest of the development - this is not a bad thing!).
It's rainy and windy out there today. Yesterday was only cloudy, Friday was drizzly, but today is a proper Oregon fall day, blustery and soggy. It's glorious.
Now off to start laundry, work on plot/news/app tasks at Ephemera, and see if I have a decent shot of Scott with a bird in his hair. *bounce!*
