Today was good; Scott's parents and brother stopped by and we chatted for a while. Then they went to lunch (the restaurant was too far afield for me to go to while on-call, but I told them to go try it and have fun; they don't need to be tied to a narrow corridor only because I am). They came back around 4 or so, I think, and we played Uno Hearts, then went out for Mexican, brought coffee back and played Apples to Apples.
That sounds really sparse. I'm tired now and my stomach is a bit grouchy about the Mexican food (it could be the dairy, I took a pill but only one; or it could be the fat content, or the salsa, spicier than my usual fare, or who knows what else; but I liked the food and I'll survive this). But the day was fun. Most of the time they were out, I lounged around and read. So I finished Naked in Baghdad (which was a very good read, actually) as well as a Deep Space 9 book. I had considered getting online and doing stuff, but since I didn't know when they'd be back, the book seemed infinitely more interruptible.
Tomorrow, they will stop by about 1 and pick Scott up to go visit his aunt and uncle. They wanted to make sure it didn't bother me that they were 'stealing' him but I promise I don't tie him to the house just because I am. He will almost certainly enjoy the visit, and I will get to hear about it afterward. I'll also get to get the laundry done, which would be a good thing as well....
Also - wore my contacts today! First time in like, a week and a half. (The skin condition decided to get around my eyes. This meant the occasional flake of skin in my eyes as well as applying the cream my doctor prescribed right next to the eye - which she said I could do, don't get any in it. And I haven't. But I'd much rather not wear contacts both because of the cream and because of the irritation factor from allergies and the dry/flaky skin. Bleh. So today it was not as bad and I dared to wear them. And I've made it all day with no real problems, which I take as a good sign.)
But for now, bed. My stomach will hopefully settle down and I am, in any case, quite tired.
