I'm not pleased with the painter who did our house. He said he was done. Scott and I found a few minor things on a walk-around but what got me was when I leaned out the upstairs back windows to check the job there. I could see the original color in the rough spots. Um. We specified spray-and-then-roll. This should not have happened, if that was done. I am not impressed. So called him back to fix that. But very annoyed. Not only is my house another color thanks to others' tastes, but it isn't even properly so. I can at least get the latter fixed.
Returned the stupid router to Fry's. It's not configurable enough and, they don't even mention that little fact. You have to run into it headlong. I give up. Static ip's are less annoying than that thing would have been. I am confused by the returns guy, but he seemed set on doing it his way. Most of the time, returns with all the parts and no reported defects are put back out, marked down. I returned all the parts - and got a full refund. I told him the issue was that they had not documented the timeout and it wasn't configurable anyway, and I could not live with that. He marked it return-to-manufacturer. I wonder if it's something with that type of hardware or what...not my problem, anyway.
Finally got the photos from last weekend at the Gardens/zoo up at Buzznet. So the pics of the new house color are further down now.
Had some very good roleplay this weekend. My character is disturbing at times, but it was good rp. :)
The computer room grows cloying. The problem is, the candle smells very nice at first but eventually becomes overwhelming, but blowing it out sets it to smoking, which is markedly less pleasant. So now, I take it into the hall bathroom and blow it out there, leaving the vent on for a bit. This, I think, is probably a pathetic thing, but it does take care of the problem.
I would like a period of a month or so in which I don't have to be responsible for so much stuff. I don't mind having to work, or pay for it. I just don't want to have to make annoying choices, hard choices, bug people, etc. I want things to go smoothly. Yes, I know, this is a child's dream to want to force such moments from the universe. I still wish.
Oh, well. Starting tomorrow, not on-call for a couple weeks. Of course, I'm on-call over Thanksgiving, as if to make up for that.

I hate that smell, too. I love the scent of a match, but an extinguished candle is nasty.
