Yes, me again, books again. Returned three to the library today - Trickster's Queen which I adored, and was sorry to return, but which I had read and Scott had read and I had reread and I had reread my favorite parts again. Someone else deserves to enjoy it. I will own a copy when it comes out in paperback. Also returned Storyteller which I doubt I will ever ready again, and Eragon which I lost interest in before I got very far in. I was nearly killed by cliches, not to mention the main character was doing stupid things. Granted, he has some excuse due to age, but not that much excuse. *rolls eyes*
Picked up de Lint's Trader, one of two of his books I'm planning to read to see if I like them better than I did Memory and Dream. So far, so good. I've not even finished the first chapter, so that isn't saying much. But I don't want to throttle the main character. Early on in M & D, the only reason I kept reading it was that it had been recommended. Trader, I would so far still be reading even if I had only picked it up at random. As far in as I am to it, that's no guarantee; but it's certainly a positive sign. I'm rather tired today, though, and not focussing well, so for the moment I've set it down, out of the feeling that really, I should be awake enough to appreciate it more.
Slightly early bed tonight, I think.
