Just noticed I haven't posted anything since Tuesday, unless you count Thursday's private posting of a few links so I wouldn't lose them in a reboot. *snickers* I should really pick those back up, read them, and delete that.

I am alive, honest. Doing pretty well. Work's been busy but not bad - things have been getting done. It looks like I'll get the formal answer on the allergy shots soon, finally. Sigh. Meanwhile, the tooth care crud is progressing pretty well in spite of my general dislike for dentistry. I'm not terrified of the dentist or anything; I just dislike it intensely, especially getting the shot at the start of a filling. (He almost had me demand he find a new assistant at the last appointment, however. There are several, and we got one who did not know me and did not pay attention when I was confirming with him that he remembered I would lift my hand to signal if I needed him to pause. I started to lift my hand when I couldn't hold still any more for the thing and she grabbed it. What, did she think I was going to grab for his arm? I was lifting the hand that was away from him. I shook her off, he got the point, and I explained to her the purpose and told her not to restrain my arm. She started to reach for it again. I don't know if he signalled or what, but she stopped and I didn't hear/see anything. Good thing, because had she tried to restrain me from signalling when I couldn't tolerate whatever was being done, I would have asked that she be removed from my presence and replaced with someone else. (In practice, I usually have to signal at most once, because the only thing that hurts enough that I care is the stupid injection to make things stop hurting. Once it works, I can deal.)

Been playing World of Warcraft a lot. It's frighteningly addictive and very, very fun. I don't know if Scott knew what a terrible, horrible thing he was doing to get me playing this...but I'm glad he did. :)

And I've been roleplaying, and fussing around with various code/building ideas in a sort of idle fashion. It's fun, even if it is arguably pointless since I'm not using them.

I have also been reading. Most recently finished, Jane Lindskold's Wolf Captured, the latest in the series (fourth, I think). (Thank you, Dad, for loaning me yours!) It's marvelous. Every book she writes in this series, I love it more. It has not yet become - may it never become - one of those series where the author is plodding by rote. The world is vividly alive and my views of it growing and growing strongly. I like how she handled the story in this one, the fact that it seemed real and vivid and true, if that makes sense. I won't say more than that as truly explaining why I say it would, while not telling a single plot point, arguably constitute a huge spoiler.

It's getting later in the year. I may go to the Gardens again in a few weeks. They will be right now quite damp and bare. There have been years I have gone a lot in the winter and enjoyed that, but I'm not in the mood so much this year, to spend so much time getting there for only that.

Now off to the grocery store to pick up a few things. And so home to do laundry, and pay bills, I suppose. Ever so much fun.
