The second bookshelf is now attached to the wall. All went quite smoothly, except the part where I cut myself. With what, you may ask? Hopefully not the drill while in motion - no. Surely you were careful with the exacto blade when trimming the opening to allow access to the power outlet? Yes, yes I was careful, and no, I did not cut myself with the knife.

I cut myself on the back of the desk, next to which the bookcase was being set up, when I reached around to adjust the path taken by the power cord that uses the outlet. Yes, I cut myself on the furniture. Heaven only knows why it has something sharp back there but it sure does. Fortunately it's not a large cut, but it's definitely a cut and not a scrape.

Sigh. Power tools and knives, I know to be cautious of. Apparently I haven't learned to be cautious about desks. :P

The work isn't quite done. Not unless I think the bottom shelf looks best decorated with little heaps of detritus from putting that opening in. Which I don't. But other than that it's fine.

My fourth-biggest ever wound and the largest not surgically induced was the 8-stitcher gash I got on my forehead by hitting it with a gun cabinet. ‡¦P

Yeah, they said I didn't lose consciousness and there was no concussion, but I remember tumbling off the bed, and the next thing the cool breeze flowing over me as I was being rushed to the car. I was 5. The scar's so faded it's pretty much invisible now.
