Today was, overall, a productive day. I finished shelving the 'upstairs' roleplaying books. There's 1-2 shelves of 'downstairs' roleplaying books, including all of those Scott uses in his present games and some that simply didn't fit upstairs. There's a full five shelves upstairs (well, almost full - there's a little space on the upper shelf but I'm expecting that to go away, partly or wholly, after GenCon).

I went to Saturday Market today - bought nothing, no photos, just wandered. There was some lovely stuff there but none I had any use for other than to admire it as I wandered past. There was a jazz group performing somewhere in the part across the tracks; I never wandered over, but I could hear them. I was immensely amused when they timed it so that the Max train whistle fit in with the music. I have no idea if that was deliberate - I doubt it, how would they know exactly when it would sound? - but it was great.

I went on to the Japanese Gardens - they were lovely - it was post-rainstorm and everything was water-coated and sun-touched at the same time - glowing in ways I'm not sure I believe the camera or words could ever capture, either one. Portland was under clouds and looking out from the Gardens it was like seeing the city in the blue cast of a photo that needs a bit of levels correction! I uploaded a flower picture from the Gardens over at Flickr, but nothing else came out well enough to add, and that one's much like others I've done.

Then, as long as I was driving past the zoo anyway, I stopped there. It was the elephant's birthday weekend, which I'd never known. Fortunately, I wasn't interested in the elephants and it kept plenty of people busy, so that works. I wandered only a few areas - there's a lorikeet photo, and one of a sea lion. The sea lion pic is questionable technically, but kind of touching for other reasons.

Home now (obviously) and I have taken the trash out, finished loading and run the dishwasher, and am finishing up the laundry for the weekend now. I feel accomplished. (Also formatted the logs from a scene with my semi-tabletop character - very much enjoying that game and pleased that I am not yet behind on logs.) Before I set out today, I uploaded a photo from 2002 also (Veritable Quandary is the title). I'm pleased with the look of that one.
