Went to the Gardens this morning and broke in my new memory card for the camera (read: confirmed it works sanely and all that). Scott and I headed to Lake Oswego, then went into Portland, where he drove me all over including Powell's (we didn't park in their garage - he might've, but traffic was insane and getting TO the garage not very doable...across only one lane!) and the new Lush store. I am SO GLAD I did not go there on my own. I was afraid I would dislike the parking situation in the area. It is a thousand times worse than I imagined; had I tried it on my own, I would have collapsed into tears and failed to park and failed to go in. Scott managed to park and I got to go in, so that worked out. Picked up some samples and such, but not many (too many of their things have stuff I don't want to have on my skin due to allergies, which is a pity as some of them smel quite nice).
And then we stopped at the zoo, and the leopards were quite cute sleeping up on a log (but in a horrid position with regards their window and the sun; no chance of a shot), and the giraffes were out and active and I stopped at the main gate and bought a ticket for a concert on the zoo lawn. It's in July, Friday the 22nd...in other words, the Friday before the Marvin Bell workshop. Suzanne Vega is performng at the Oregon Zoo. I boggle, and then I glee. A lot.
