My version of it, tweaked still a bit more based on theirs. Hopefully I don't have too many errors - it astonishes me to realize what I had to look up and ask about because I didn't know, even though I know so much about what wonderful people they were.
Julie Anne Mitchell Davidson was born March 20, 1945, to Robert T. and Bernice (nee Flanigan) Mitchell, in Toledo, Ohio. She died December 12, 2006, of lung cancer. Raised in Napoleon Ohio, she lived above her father's greenhouse, with her mother and later her step-mother and sisters. She attended Michigan State, where she met and married Andy Davidson. They were married in Lansing, Michigan on December 20, 1966. She was a loving mother, a good cook, a homemaker, a gardener, and was active in a variety of organizations for children's education (including both the Oregon Association for the Talented And Gifted and what was then known as the Olympics of the Mind).
Andrew Irvine Davidson was born November 27, 1939, to Jesse Irvine and Ruth (nee Dickason) Davidson, in Buffalo, New York. He died in a car accident December 21, 2006, just nine days after his beloved wife passed away. He lived for a time in West Virginia. He attended Princeton, but did not graduate from there; he continued his studies at, and graduated from, Rutgers. He went on to get a Master's degree in physics at Michigan State. He worked as a software engineer most of his life and retired in 2001. He was a loving father. He liked to tinker with things (electrical and otherwise) and research family history and genealogy.
Together, they lived at various times in Minnesota, California, and Oregon. For the last 27 years, they lived in a house in the hills outside Newberg, in farm country that has been slowly changing to vineyards. They both enjoyed reading, playing games, camping and traveling.
They were preceded in death by their daughter Kathryn and their parents, as well as Andy's sister Laura Davidson. They are survived by their daughter Laura Davidson, son-in-law Scott Brown, by Andy's brother Jim and his wife, and by Julie's brother Tom Good and her sisters Connie Cobb and Sandy Johnson, and their families.
As they wished, they were cremated; no services are planned. We remember them with love.
Two photos, the first from seven or eight years ago (I think) and the second from 1982:
