Today was good. Today was just plain freakin' good. Got together this evening with [livejournal.com profile] cflute for dinner as she drove through town and had an absolute blast talking with her, hearing her stories, etc. I probably told a few more stories about my parents than I normally would've but they felt natural, and we shared various stories from our work, and that sort of thing. Just...chattering away and having fun at it. Got a couple recommendations for things to look into (West Wing, and a local community program, that I can remember). Was very cool.

Toward the end of it, I was thinking I should really shut up soon and let her go as it felt like it was getting late, but I never quite got around to doing so. She finally said we probably should go - Scott was yawning. So we departed. What shocked me was the clock when I got in the car (I hadn't had my watch on). We were all there by around 6 or a bit thereafter. So 7:30 or 8:00 wouldn't have surprised me. It was after nine. Yes, I'm posting this not long after I got home, though I stopped to cuddle the cats. The conversation was a blast, I very much enjoyed it, I hope and I think she did...and I truly did not realize that I had managed to monopolize quite that much of her time. Wow.

Fortunately, the roads this evening were not bad. It melted to slush and the main road was clear but wet, and it hasn't refrozen yet. I suspect tomorrow early may not be pretty if it ices overnight as they thought it would, but the freezing rain at least failed to materialize.

Now to upload some photos and then put another post up about that. Today was pretty neat, too, but tonight beats it out by many factors of happy.

I actually had my watch on but hadn't thought to look at it. I was enjoying myself far too much!

Drive down to Salem was no problem. The oddest thing was the lack of freeway-side lights, and the presence of fog. But I got here just fine and all's well.

Was great seeing you, and meeting Scott (who looks sorta familiar; makes me wonder if we met at an OryCon or a PorSFiS event or something). Thanks for dinner, that was a lovely and unexpected treat!
