Easter dinner was lovely - the meal itself, the company, the day. I screwed up and forgot my Lactaid pills so I did not get to indulge in the cheesy potatoes as I wished, but there were plenty of other tasty things for me to eat. It is a good thing I do not eat like this every day and yet I am so glad to get to eat like this now and then!
Good company and conversation, too. There was a badminton game going when we arrived, but it was winding down and in any case I'd rather watch than participate. Then there was the meal, and later an Easter egg hunt for the younger ones. Scott and I have helped set out the treats in years past but this year we did not - more bodies willing to set them out than needed, already. But it was fun to watch.
Water weapons had been presented most of the college-age and younger guests earlier in the day. The result was predictably chaotic and people got spritzed during the hunt. Eventually someone turned the hose on them!
Later, after the meal, was the funniest, though. Several of those who had been involved in the worst of the soakings and hose use were on the deck, which is a story above the yard. Some of the others went down, got the hose, and sprayed up onto the deck...and had warned those of us inside, so a camera was positioned (and the door to the deck shut, not that this mattered, for reasons you will see in a moment). Then the photographer came in, and then the others...just as JT launched a bucket of water at them from the door to the deck. Sploosh!
Very soggy but mostly in good humor. The youngest child there, however, was caught in the spray and while she was laughing just after, she got upset a few seconds later. I'm not sure why the time delay, unless it took that long for the whole thing to hit, which is possible. Luckily she was not at the front and was dampened, not soaked completely as the two main targets were. I still felt bad for her, but I think she was having fun again by the time we all started to drift away.
I'm starting a photo upload after I post this, to Flickr. It'll complete sometime later, I'm not sure when. I'll be asleep by then, I hope. :)

You have some nice pix there. The new shirt is nice and the colors seem perfect for Easter.
You have some other very nice photos out there from the gardens that I missed somehow. I love the one of the lantern with Mt. Hood.

LOVED the pics of the dog wrapped in a towel. What expression on his little face!

Those pictures were taken by his relatives - tossed on a CD before we headed out, bless them. I need to get the pics off my camera, as I think I got a really good one of the dog after he'd given up and lain down, looking really resigned and (of course) still wearing that towel!
