Most of you probably know this, but please, no spoilers. Please, impressions behind a cut. I know that lots of you got it last night while I was sound asleep. I will not get it for weeks or months, since I am somewhere below number 600 on the library hold list. I won't buy hardcovers; I don't care for the price or the need to replace them with paperbacks later (since they use too much shelf space). So I have to wait for the library copy. Please, please, no spoilers. I've already seen one today that the person probably didn't think was a spoiler but I don't want even hints of the tone / what you liked / etc.
I know, it's your journal and you can write whatever you want, but I'll be really, really grateful if I actually get to read this book without knowing anything about it first.

But it will still be faster than 600 people will read it, so.
I do not believe I bought the damn thing

Worst spoiler I ever got was from an idiot about Princess Mononoke, AFTER I asked him to shut up about it. Worst. Spoiler. Ever. And I can't even explain why it was so bad, without it being a spoiler. :P (Worst one Scott ever got was someone just out and out telling him the twist to The Sixth Sense. Which he politely did not share with me and let me watch it unspoilered!)
Icon applies to others, not you.
And the Sixth Sense thing...yeah, a lot of people enjoyed spoiling that one, I suspect because they were jealous of M. Shamaylan's storytelling skillz. @_@;;
Re: Icon applies to others, not you.
Well.
I was literally unable to finish watching it because it felt pointless and irritating and I was assessing everything based on what he said, brief as the exchange was.

It's too bad there's no way to have LJ forward comments, etc. to someone for reviewing before you read them, or I'd offer to check them for spoilers.

But I figure I can at least ask.
