Not having a great deal of luck integrating Apple and Babe. And to my shock, the surprise is Babe. Babe, the timid, submissive kitty...who snarls and tries to swat Apple. In spite of following all the proper 'introduce the kitty' protocols. So, we have some additional advice from the behaviorist and will keep trying. Sigh. Apple, at least, handles this without terror but also without retaliating. (Which is a minor miracle for any cat. And she's a tortie; whether or not statistics will bear it out, anecdotally they're not the most, ah, calm sorts.)

This morning, there was a puddle in the parking lot. The sewer (storm drain, clear water) had backed up / was backing up: you could look at the manhole cover and see the little inch-to-two-inch-high fountains coming out of the holes in it. Strange, and kinda funny, but only because it wasn't my problem. All sorted out by midday.

The contractor who will do the furniture for the living room made it out today, had a look, got measurements. He sounded pretty comfortable with this project, now we just wait for the estimate.

Tried to get a prescription refilled. Insurance rejected in a way that indicated that the medicine wasn't covered any more. I didn't really want to pay almost-three-times-as-much. Called insurance. Insurance said oh no, medicine is fine, company is not fine. Was before, isn't now. Something about multi-sourced on that NDC, just have them use a different NDC. I reported this to the pharmacist who did a round of "that's not what the system said", plugged the NDC they gave me in, failed to find it, changed the search, and then said, "That's the exact same thing" and beat his head on the monitor a couple times. He will call them in the morning and make sure he can use what he thinks he can, and also suggest that, you know, a note as to preferred NDC might be appropriate rather than a flat-out refusal.

Me? I'm just mildly grumpy. And majorly amused, because I do not often see him at all overset, let alone beating his head on a monitor. So while it wasn't worth it, it was at least not entirely bad.
