They are re-doing the roof. The library is not that old. But apparently (all gossip herein from one of the librarians!), the original contractor who did the roof used the wrong nails, and they have been dealing with leaks. Leaks. In a library. Poor people. (I saw no sign of water damage anywhere I went, so maybe it's in meeting rooms or staff areas, but still, aie.) To add insult to injury, the contractor who did it has apparently since gone out of business. But they've hired someone to fix it. Poor library. "Quiet in the library" was pretty irrelevant when I was in there the other day, as having the roof ripped off and redone doesn't leave the interior of the building quiet anyway.

Ugh. Redoing the roof is /never/ fun. Or quiet!

I remember when our roof was being redone at the duplex after one of the last hurricanes. It was one day - they were fast - but from 7:30a-6pm at night, it was constant - scraping, tearing, ripping, hammering. *twitches*
