The world may love me lots re the farmer's market, but I could do without the 80+ degree weather. Our poor heat pump cannot keep up, so the bedroom is 80 degrees right now. This is no fun for any of us and not very good for Drew. We are hiding out downstairs, where it is a marginally-better 78 degrees. Ugh.

Wow, you need an adequate heat pump. 80 degrees is not satisfactory. We have a heat pump too, but 73 is where I leave it. That is actually a compromise, I like it even cooler.

It's about what I was led to expect during a high-80s day based on the descriptions I got from various people selling heat pumps, not that this makes me any happier about it. How big is your house, is it shaded? Our bedroom is the master bedroom - top floor and south-facing. Do you have auxiliary AC with your heat pump? We don't - just the pump itself.

It is also not aided by the minimum temp being so high - when it's cool overnight, it makes sure the house stays warm - we have the temperature band narrow because of Drew. (I think, given the forecast this week, I should have lowered it, but I hadn't seen the forecast.)

Replacing with another model this shortly after buying it in the first place, not going to happen.

We are about 1400 square feet, all one level. It is much warmer here than where you are and we do not have an auxiliary AC. I have had heat pumps since I lived in Tucson, and they have really kept the house much cooler than 80 degrees even in 100 degree heat. Yours just does not seem to be adequate.
