I read their news bit. So we can promote our content. LiveJournal is not what it once was, and I put my public content on Blogger.

Yeah. I'm using Dreamwidth, and echoing content here. I do read here, but my posting is done from there.

I don't see that it does my stuff much *harm* to be on LJ...but if I weren't already here? I probably wouldn't join.

Could be me but who the heck would want their private content promoted on the homepage anyway??? Maybe if you write an activist blog or some community on a certain topic.. but for me that's not at all what livejournal is about. Heck, I don't even ever visit the homepage lol.

I think there are storefronts, people who sell stuff through LJ, media figures, etc., that might want it?

But I'm still kind of appalled. A real change from what it once was.

Storefronts on LJ.. what is this.. a webshop platform? LOL no. I can see they may want something like this in theory but really who of the general userbase, people like you and me, would even check the frontpage just to see whether some odd storefront is selling stuff we may be interested in? I just don't get it I guess! :)
