I said it before, I'll say it again. Have a secure password.

And now, I'll add one more thought: make sure you have an email address you currently have access to validated on your account. If you don't have access to any validated email, you can't get your password sent to you. Not if someone breaks into your account, not if you lose your password, never.

You have a validated address but have since lost the address/left the ISP/the ISP went out of business? Not good enough: you can't get email there any more. You have to be able to actually receive and open the email. You can get your password sent to any previously validated address, but that's only useful if you've validated one you can still use.
