It's chilly in the mornings and my hands grow cold on the steering wheel. It's amazingly crisp for the start of November here: the sky is clear and bright (and with the cold, unforgiving). The colors are not brilliant so much as they are stark, boldly unwilling to be simply pretty as they are when softened, but equally unwilling to go unnoticed. The shadows are sharp.

Definitely time for the gloves. And more lotion. The weather here is not helping the damage I did to my hands in New Hampshire (I managed not to notice till it actually cracked, the next to last day, how badly the skin on the backs of them was drying out). I've started using lotion, but I still need to protect them.

Now, if only I knew where my gloves were. A task for some spare moment....

And I did get to see trick-or-treaters last night, though I missed most of the rush.

For paid users, you can add RSS feeds to your friends list. So I've added a couple (comics I read - [livejournal.com profile] dilbertdaily and [livejournal.com profile] kevinkell). I'm vaguely tempted by some of the news feeds, except for the entertaining part where too many sites (LJ included, in fact!) put out just a title and a link.

I don't enjoy following that many links, and the titles are almost invariably crap for figuring out if you want to read it. That leaves [livejournal.com profile] slashdot right out, and [livejournal.com profile] theregister as well, though they do put in summaries. They're just stupid summaries. Ahem, well, okay, that's my opinion.

At some point when I have the time, I may poke around at a few other sites I enjoy and see if I could add them to my friends page.
