Stress, stress, more stress, and a truly VILE cold (possibly now a truly vile sinus infection, and my doctor could not fit me in, and getting to urgent care is not really doable while on call AUGH).
However. I can let it define the week or I can argue. I've been missing a lot of gratitudes lately (over on Twitter/Facebook, and I haven't copied any here in forever I know), because of stress, and I think that is NOT helping me deal with the stress.
So. I am grateful for:
However. I can let it define the week or I can argue. I've been missing a lot of gratitudes lately (over on Twitter/Facebook, and I haven't copied any here in forever I know), because of stress, and I think that is NOT helping me deal with the stress.
So. I am grateful for:
- Cough drops, decongestants, and other medicines. I may not like needing them, but I'd like how I felt a lot less without them.
- Hot baths, hot showers, hot tea...sensing a theme?
- A goodly supply of clean water, so that staying hydrated is a matter of remembering to drink. I'm very fortunate to live in a country and a time when it is so easy and convenient.
- Washer/dryers.
- Super comfy leggings.
- Cuddly cats. (I won't be grateful for claws. But the owners of the claws are sweet, cute, and generally well meaning.)
- Cell phones. They make so many things more convenient than they otherwise would be.
- Oyster. Seriously, OYSTER. I've got so many books queued up to read.
- Goat Milk Soap. Looking forward to another bar of honeysuckle, and a half-bar of pineapple to see if I like it! :)
- My family – Scott and the boys, but also my wonderful extended family, both sides. I am blessed with amazing relatives, including my in-laws.
- Computers. Because hey, I'm posting this, right?
- Coursera, even if I am presently playing the “which courses do I keep and which do I drop” game because there are too many I'm vaguely interested in all at the same time. Actually, maybe ESPECIALLY because of that.
- The amazing YMCA Wilsonville day care/pre school that my boys go to. A wonderful group of people, and thank goodness for all they do for the boys, which goes far beyond simply caring for them even before they're officially in preschool.
- Ian's parrotting of words. He's learning some fairly complex pronunciations (for an under-two) and becoming increasingly comprehensible to people who don't know him well. Last night, he was echoing whatever got said for a while. “Chocolate” was the one that stuck in my mind – which is a pity, because some of the others were more hilarious and less expected from a kid.
- Lactase supplements from Rite Aid can be bought in bottles. Which means you can carry them around without crushing them to powder. EXCELLENT.
- Patient friends, even if I did basically barely say hi to them last night.
- A comfy house to be at home IN.
- Chocolate. And caramels. And chocolate-coated caramels.
- Airplanes, even if I'm not using them at the moment myself.
- My coworkers, who are wonderful people to work with.
- Root beer. Minor? Yes. Yummy? Yep!
- Progress made on cleaning, however slight.
- Warm blankets fresh from the dryer.
- Sunlight.
- Trees turning colors in the fall. And the effect of the sunlight on their colors.
- Rain, and water in general.
- Music.
- Any of you that has read this far...and those of you who didn't. My family, friends, and coworkers rock.

I'm not sure if it's a business plan to not let you search, or just a less-critical feature since they're still new.
