I'm going to miss it, but not as much as I could. I was, after all, still on call for work, though on the phone that only gets occasional calls (one all weekend so far, when L was driving and needed me to take one of his). Next week, I am not on call and in fact have Thursday and Friday off. That's going to be very nice; Scott and I are planning to go to the beach on Friday.

Got some roleplay in, though not as much as I wanted. Felt like I was trying more than getting, but the scenes I did get rocked. Got some Ephemera code done - updates to allow for and list player helpers - and additions to the help and news files (including the aforementioned player-helper commands) as well. Wrote up designs for some possible new bits of code (or replacement bits of code). When or if they'll happen is another matter - depends on if I have the time. I know the major one won't happen until I get chargen working again, because it's larger and more work than that is. The smaller ones tend to get used when I'm too brain-dead to work on the big stuff, but the still-bigger stuff doesn't fit that way. :)

Lauren does work as a Deliria character, almost perfectly. It's beautiful. Of course, this follows the way I worked the rules out from the example in the book. Reviewing some threads on the "official" boards, it appears the company reps may have said that's not how some of those things are. I weep. Put out a system, make your example actually match what you mean, and make the text clear about the mechanics. That's the only flaw in this system, but it's a major one when you end up with debates about the system all over the boards. It'll be house-ruled to death, I'm sure. For now, I built her similar to the example, and by that measure she can just be created as a Wanderer-level character. And I will count myself happy with that.

Slowly whittling down my list of things checked out from the library; I've returned several. Watched Balto II, and returned it. At least as sentimental as the first one, predictable in places (which the first one was also), a bit heavy-handed...very pretty. I liked it. I wouldn't list it as an example of a great film; but it's pretty and utterly watchable. Then again, I watched it on Friday, when my nerves were all shattered from a lousy day. I'd have liked anything simple and pretty then. *wry*

Started the beadwork project over, again. Still not pleased with it. I think it may not work, but I'm going to stubborn through it until it's done even if it doesn't work. The problem with some of the weaves is, they don't look like they'll work until they're a significant portion of the way done. So we'll see. I at least haven't forgotten the skills involved, that's for sure. Went out and got needles, yesterday, as I only had the one that I could find. Michael's has closed, the nearest one that I knew how to find, so I went to the bead shop in Tigard. It hasn't moved. I managed not to buy anything but needles and some nymo (mostly because a shade that matched the beads could only be a good thing, plus, I wanted a smaller thread than I'd been able to find).

I've lost track of Memory & Dream in the welter of stuff around my desk. It has to be in one of two places, though. It's in a trio of books t hat are my next-due, so I'll dig it out tonight or tomorrow and start back up reading. Maybe I will be happier with it after the time away, though I suspect not, since I spent part of that time reading and then rereading The Wood Wife.
