I've been playing with the new styles, because I could. I mostly like Flexible Squares so I'm toying wtih the idea of keeping it, for the moment. I'm not sure I will, though - it puts too much space (needlessly) between entries on the page, in my opinion. That's the only thing I really object to, but I dislike the big wasted gobs of space - and I dislike having to scroll more to read. On the other hand, since it's not a customization option, fixing it would require me to get far more interested in styles than I am. So for the moment, I'm leaving it to see if I get used to it. If I don't, the style will probably go back to what it was.

Off to the Gardens soonishly.

[Edit: back from the Gardens. It's now 12:30 and reading my friends list is a pain. Plus, reading posts, it looks like there are no comments when there is that much blank space even if there are. Ick. Going back to Component, it has drawbacks but I like it.]

This morning, I went to the Gardens for the members' tour. I was curious if there was any information in it I did not know or had not heard. There was, but not a whole lot that was of interest to me. Most of that came, not as part of the tour itself, but the care-of-plants comments we got because we had one of the board members who is also in charge of the landscaping along on it, and he added commentary you don't normally get. (That's not part of the members' tour either - our guide was surprised, and the other group didn't get this.)

So on the whole, the tour was a loss; but it wasn't a horrid use of an hour, and there were cookies (and tea, sigh) at the end of it, at least. And then I went back around the Gardens and took some photos. Then I went over to the rose gardens - I'd told someone I'd get them a photo of a plaque there if I could, because, well, it's easy to stop at the rose gardens from the Japanese - there's just a row of tennis courts between them.

The lilies at the Japanese Gardens were not yet in bloom. The roses, mostly, were. I spent 25 minutes wandering around and phtographing flowers, gardens, more flowers, etc. My nose and eyes were protesting due to allergies within about 10 minutes, but - darnit, the gardens are neat! (I would have been in and out in about 2 minutes if I'd just taken the photos I'd come for instead of strolling about. But, although I would not have had the allergy problems, I would not have had the fun either. So - no trade, that was a good thing.)

I probably didn't help matters when I stopped to smell the flowers, in this case. :)

I will have photos to share tomorrow. For now, I am for bed.
