For the first time since I stopped fitting my old shirts (and had to either buy shirts for temporary use, or buy maternity shirts), I finally have enough shirts that I like and can wear that I can worry, in the morning, about which one I want to wear without having it be merely a question of what goes with the pants (and what gets deferred until tomorrow). Between a coworker of mine who let me have a few of her old shirts (she'd have let me have more, but we're not the same size), and the ones I've bought, I'm finally pleased with my wardrobe again.
The big bulk purchase, yesterday, was under $27 - at a consignment shop - for seven shirts. I was thrilled. I've tried several thrift/consignment stores and gotten nothing. Yesterday, I went out to check on my parents' house and change the hand towel for a fresh one, and figured that since I was only about 15-20 minutes from McMinnville then, I'd continue on and go to New To You. It used to be one of my favorite places to clothes-shop, when it wasn't so far away. I wasn't sure if it had a maternity section though I thought I remembered a sign. Sure enough, it did...one circular rack. One. I was wincing when I saw that, but they actually had enough things that suited me that I was able to discard several that were "merely okay."
Glee. Glee fueled, I admit, mostly by relief. (Also? Excellent, and affordable, retail therapy - buying something I needed anyway. Win!)
