For the first time since I stopped fitting my old shirts (and had to either buy shirts for temporary use, or buy maternity shirts), I finally have enough shirts that I like and can wear that I can worry, in the morning, about which one I want to wear without having it be merely a question of what goes with the pants (and what gets deferred until tomorrow). Between a coworker of mine who let me have a few of her old shirts (she'd have let me have more, but we're not the same size), and the ones I've bought, I'm finally pleased with my wardrobe again.

The big bulk purchase, yesterday, was under $27 - at a consignment shop - for seven shirts. I was thrilled. I've tried several thrift/consignment stores and gotten nothing. Yesterday, I went out to check on my parents' house and change the hand towel for a fresh one, and figured that since I was only about 15-20 minutes from McMinnville then, I'd continue on and go to New To You. It used to be one of my favorite places to clothes-shop, when it wasn't so far away. I wasn't sure if it had a maternity section though I thought I remembered a sign. Sure enough, it did...one circular rack. One. I was wincing when I saw that, but they actually had enough things that suited me that I was able to discard several that were "merely okay."

Glee. Glee fueled, I admit, mostly by relief. (Also? Excellent, and affordable, retail therapy - buying something I needed anyway. Win!)

Babe goes in for her MRI tomorrow (they were able to move it up a day). Things I hope, in order: that all goes smoothly tomorrow, that it's not cancer or anything else unavoidably fatal, that it's curable/fixable, that she gets her vision back.

I am going to be SUCH a bundle of nerves tomorrow. (And the cats will be grouchy by tomorrow morning - food and water fast starting at 10 pm tonight for Babe, which Apple gets to share since isolating her would be difficult. She'll get food and water as soon as Scott and Babe are out the door in the morning, though.)

I was teasing Babe with the stick end of the feather toy, scraping it along the carpet as she chased it. I tired of the sport before she did (I was having a blast, too) and set it down. Then I felt bad for ignoring her, so I reached over and patted Scott's stomach (he was lying on his back on the bean-bag chair), jokingly. Babe immediately responded by standing, walking over, and stepping cautiously up onto the beanbag and then onto Scott. He is now neatly colonized by a happy cat (and doesn't seem too unhappy himself), though we were both a little surprised at how quickly and easily she took that invitation (usually it takes several sounds to coax her into place). So. CUTE.

And I am so tired. I gobed now.
