And I have no intention of so much as collecting my library books. First, one of the front tires each from Scott's car and mine, iced over:

It blew me away the one time I was out there (couple of years ago now), and the friend I was staying with was driving a car that was 25 years old - it's almost unheard of to see cars that age in either Massachusetts, where I grew up, or Minnesota except in *very* clear weather, and even then, not for general driving.

There are also reasons I love my Saturn - fiberglass body panels are a good thing in snowy areas.

They are, apparently, shifting over to something other than salt mostly, now - I think it's a molasses based mixture. Easier on the soil, easier on the cars, and if they can get it down in the right conditions, they don't need to salt.

The tires would probably have gotten me too, I admit. (And besides, even if you can get out of the driveway, it really isn't much fun to drive in that kind of conditions.)
