Why we both stayed home today....

And I have no intention of so much as collecting my library books. First, one of the front tires each from Scott's car and mine, iced over:

Yeah. I would not drive in the conditions we had, but I was willing to let Scott do it. (He grew up in Wisconsin, he's competent. I am tolerably competent, but not up to this, without chains, and frankly since I can work from home, it's much brighter to just sit tight.)

Until I saw the tires. What's hard to see in the photos is that the tread areas were iced enough to be smooth to the touch - the tread was filled in, at least on the top.

I'd say I was not impressed, but actually I was. I just wasn't pleased. :)
