But, it wasn't all bad. Just some of it. And some odd. Left the house at 3:45 to have Scott at the airport by 4:30 (for a 6 am flight).
( Bizarre semi truck moment )
Then it was a clear drive most of the way - I was thrilled to see a bright, bright meteor. I wasn't LOOKING for meteors, I was driving! But I saw one partway up 205 anyway. I figured I'd spend time on the deck when I got home and watch for more. (This didn't happen, for various reasons. Perhaps tomorrow morning.)
There was something else really funny I meant to post about, but I've forgotten it since then.
Then I dropped Scott off at the airport, and headed back home. I was enjoying the drive (hey, I seldom get to see 205 that peaceful and clear) and was about 2/3 of the way home when my cell rang. ( And we explain why I never watched the meteor shower today, and what I did instead. Yes, Scott said I could share this. )
I'm glad, in a lot of ways, that I'm not going to GenCon. With all that needs doing around here, it's handy - and this morning's misadventure would have upset me a lot more if it had affected my travel also. Now to stay up just a little bit longer so I can call the City of Wilsonville. A few days ago, signs appeared that they'd be sealing our street. YESTERDAY signs and notices with the date arrived, which we got yesterday evening - and it is Thursday. No street parking after 8 am Thursday (don't care), no in or out by car from 9 am Thursday until the seal is dry (4-6 hours after it is placed). I want to get the exact schedule for the street so I can better estimate the impact on my Thursday...because that's the day of Babe's appointment. I'll have to leave about quarter to 9 for that anyway, and in theory I won't pick her up until afternoon, but - I need a firm idea of when I can get in. It's supposed to be 95 tomorrow, and what am I going to do, drive around with the cat in my car losing her mind and the AC on? Come ON. (I also need to call the vet, because emergency procedures can take over time and could prevent the biopsy being done that day, since it's not a critical procedure. I need to know that if I drop the cat off, they're keeping the cat. Otherwise, we have to move the appointment, because this is just not gonna work.)
Then, I go back to bed and nap, because hi, only six hours of sleep. I'd like a couple more. ;)
Hmm. I need a 'determined' or 'keeping on' or 'getting things done' type icon. *frownies* I don't have one I feel suits for a post like this.
